Parents,
Welcome to the Fall 2009 Soccer Season. We are anxious to get the season started. I am pleased to say we have over 90 boys in the program this season and have 8 Teams (two more than last fall). It is great to see so many boys taken an active role in Soccer.
Due to the fact that the 5th & 6th grade Girls & Boys have so many teams this season, we needed to initiate a Friday night game to ensure we could fit in all the games on Saturday. Each Boys and Girl team will play one Friday night game (see the schedule) this season.
Some Important things to remember:
- All Games will be played on Friday or Saturday at the East Field
- Practice Schedules - Individual Coaches will provide
- First Game is Friday, September 11th and Saturday, September 12th
- All players must have cleats and shin guards
- No jewelry of any kind is allowed
- Ball Size is #4. If your son brings his own ball, please make sure his name is on it.
- Make sure your son brings enough water to games and practices.
- Games will consist of 2 - 30 minute halves.
- NYS follows all Coastal Youth Soccer League (CYSL) rules in the fall program to prepare for the Spring Season.
- CYSL prohibits spectators from watching the game on same side as the players and coaches.
- At all times please be courteous to players, coaches, referees and spectators.
- Norwell Youth Soccer strictly adheres to a Zero Tolerance Policy. At no time should negative comments be directed at the players, coaches and referees.
NOTE: This season we will not be having “official” team games on Columbus Day Weekend. However, we will be running a round robin tournament on that Saturday October 10th for players who are around and would like to play. More information on this event will be sent out as it draws closer.
