Welcome Letter to Parents

Parents,

Welcome to another season of Travel Soccer.  By way of introduction, I am Matt Daly and I coordinate the Girls under 10 (3rd & 4th grade) program.  I am looking forward to another great season with our girls and hopefully they will enjoy the experience.  The program continues to get stronger every year, with close to 100 girls in travel program at this age group.  The Spring program introduces competition against neighboring towns.

We have a great team of Coaches this spring and they are looking forward to working with your girls and help them develop their soccer skills. Our program is based on three principles: Education, Sportmanship and Fun. We strive to achieve each of these goals and our volunteer coaches do the best they can to work individually with each player. I ask that you support these coaches the best you can throughout the season, because they devote a lot of time and effort to the girls and the program.

Games are schedule on Saturdays starting April 5th .  All home games are played at the Osbourne fields and away games will be communicated from your individual coach. Field locations for all away games are posted on this website.  Please review the locations prior to your away games.  Coaches would prefer that players arrive at least 15 minutes before each game so please plan your travel time accordingly.  Game schedules will be provided by each coach and will soon be posted here on the Website.  Coaches will contact their players if a game/practice is cancelled due to inclement weather.  Players should contact their coaches in advance if they can not make a practice or a game.

Many parents ask if games are scheduled during school vacation week.  The answer is yes.  Please inform your coaches, as soon as possible, if your family will be traveling suring vacation week.

While the league provides uniforms and some equipment to each team, I have outlined some things that each player should bring that would benefit the coaches.

  •  Soccer Ball – Size 4  (please put the girls name on it in permanent marker)
  • Shin Guards
  • Water Bottle
  • Bug Spray

Finally, just some rules we need to follow in preparation for Travel soccer in the spring.

  • All Players must have shin guards in order to play.
  • No jewelry is allowed during games.  This includes earrings. Please remove prior to games.
  • Parents/Spectators are not allowed to watch the game on the same side as the players.  This is a mandatory rule in the spring and is strictly enforced. We love the support, but please make sure you watch the game from the opposite side of the field as the players.

Although this was long, I hope you found it helpful.   Looking forward to seeing everyone during the season.  Thanks for all your support !

Regards,
Matt
