The Arbiter
ArbiterSports.com
The Arbiter is designed to allow assigning games through e-mail and texts and will allow NYSA to track refereeing assignments. Also, it will allow the Assignor and Referees to know their entire season schedule.
Everyone must notify me at
rdargon@verizon.net to obtain access to the Arbiter. Permissions will be be granted and access is based on e-mail addresses. Arbiter access is based on email address and each referee must have a different email address. Onca access is granted, go to the Account Section and check the Information tab. This is the personal information section which includes address and phone number. Please check it to make sure it is up-to-date. Referee payment is based on this information.
The Arbiter works on an “unavailability” basis: Go to tab entitled BLOCKS and block the days and times YOU ARE NOT Available. Block the time periods (AM and PM or All Day) that you are NOT available. For example, Saturday April 7, 2012 if you have a game at 10:00 AM, you are not available from 8:00 AM – 12:00 Noon. Block that out. If you have a family event and cannot referee at all, block the entire day.
Assignments are generated and you are notified by email. You must go in and ACCEPT or DECLINE the games. I have set the Accept or Decline default at 5-7 days; you must reply by that date. If you do not, it will automatically remove you from the game. If you decline 3 or more games, the system automatically puts you into the “not ready” category. No assignments will be given if you have three declines; I need to hear from you. If you are in middle school, I need to hear from you or your parent. If you are in high school, I need to hear from you (the referee) NOT your parents. I will then reinstate you.
If you do not check your email, you can sign up for automatic texts. The Arbiter charges $7.99 for a year of text notifications.
It is your responsibility to keep the Arbiter up-to-date and current. Use and check your email or sign up for text messages; however you choose to be notified, make sure you check your Arbiter account.
